NUTTY ABOUT NATURE
“Oh, the things he Tortoise !”, SEA TURTLES……part 3
As we discussed in the previous post, there are a vast amount of perfectly adorable ways to incorporate sea turtles into your life.
Of course, nature lover that I am, I designed a Sea Turtle Memo Pad that warms my heart (and yours too, I hope). Since the border is just the perfect color to compliment my desk area, I keep a couple of pads by my computer , stacked in one of my wooden Memo Holders painted in a color I call lagoon. They make me smile every time I write a note and remind me to help the save-the-sea-turtle cause.
And because I am a stationery junkie, I had to find some cute stamps and wax seals to go with my Memo Pads so I could use the paper to write short notes to be mailed to my fellow turtle lovers. Guess I need to design a proper sea turtle notecard next, huh?
I have been captivated by the Sea Turtle for a long time. To me, it represents my own family … the 4 legs are myself and my 3 sisters, the body is my mother and the protective shell, my father. I made myself a leather and sterling necklace many years ago and wear it nearly every day. If I weren’t such a sissy, I might even contemplate a tiny Sea Turtle tattoo……but then, again … maybe not. (Ouch !!) #ihatepain
If you would like some instant jewelry gratification, there are so many Sea Turtle necklaces, earrings and rings that will sate your hunger.
By the way, since we have addressed the issue of a tattoo (and dismissed it), I am not averse to having Sea Turtles printed on fabric rather than my skin. It’s a pretty good bet that if you show me a pair of shorts, a bathing suit, a hat or a dress with a Sea Turtle on it, I will snap it up tout de suite !
Now, when you are all decked out in your sea turtle tee and cap, why not go overboard and carry a coffee-filled Tumbler with sea turtles emblazoned all over it !! Oh, AND ….. wait for it … a sea turtle straw poking out ! While I am a VERY matchy-matchy person, all of this together would be a little too much, even for me … LOL.
There are many ways for you to honor and bring awareness to the salty, but sweet, Sea Turtle. If you are interested in donating to help their survival, you can find many avenues to do so…. including donating, shopping, and volunteering at some of these sites….
